I will probably use the 'tilt' switch to reduce the bottom end and raise the top end.
This was feeding the Dynaudio's with XLR, however I do have the option of AES digital input, which, with one of the DAC's I'm looking at I could use - not sure if I would notice a difference !Īs mine are ( at the moment ) in the corners of my room on a desk so I've set the dip switches at the rear to corner loaded & desk. I set the output rate from my Mac Mini to 192Hz which is what the internal DSP of the Core runs at, however running at 96Hz still sounded perfectly good !
SOUNDSOURCE ALTERNATIVE SOFTWARE
I use a bit of software which I find really useful called 'SoundSource' and if you using a Mac and some decent monitors and tend to have a few things running you can control the level of sound coming from each source as needed ( Safari / TV Tuner / Plex all at different levels ). Connected from my USB port on my Mac Mini M1. I got my DAC from my Trinnov system ( SMSL SU-8 ) which I run clean without any processing ( you can add some filters and stuff ). As such, I might end up reconfiguring my listening space to get the best out of them. They are however deeper than you expect even though you read the spec, it's not until you put them on your stands and they over hang front and rear that you go. I think would look good in a very modern room. Very clean looking, very industrial not to most peoples taste.
They look even better in the flesh and have real "presence". The wife heard the chap knocking very loudly ( I'd put a sign on the door saying the wife was deaf ).Ī few small marks on the external boxes, but they are double boxed and the inner insulation around the corners was very dense ( and heavy ) you'd really have to work hard to damage the goods inside. They got bounced around at the post office over the bank holiday and turned up whilst I was out.
